20 pounds of cocaine found in speeding BMW

PORTLAND, Ore. — A man is facing charges after police found 20 pounds of cocaine worth an estimated $320,000 inside a BMW.

Officers pulled over the vehicle for speeding on Interstate 5 in Portland. A police dog found a hidden compartment with cocaine inside the car.

The driver, 30-year-old Mauricio Gomez Alvarez, was arrested and booked into the Multnomah County Jail on a Federal hold with additional charges pending.

Another adult and a child were also in the vehicle.
