WANTED IN SEATTLE --
There is an Officer Safety Alert for a fugitive accused in a vicious crime.

Seattle Police say Jason Byron attacked and choked a 17 year old girl. Detectives say it happened at an apartment in the Greenwood area earlier this month and Byron bolted before officers arrived.

He's still on the run and considered armed with a handgun and dangerous.

"This guy's a convicted felon. He has no right to a firearm, yet he's out there and we've even warned our officers in this case, he could be a threat to them,” says Ret. Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound. “He's living with a guy that actually owned a shotgun, so he has access to guns. Take a good look him. This guy has no business being on the street. $100,000 felony warrant. Let's get him into custody."

Byron's disturbing rap sheet includes convictions for threats to kill, illegally having a firearm, burglary and running from cops.

He's 36 years old, 5’9” and weighs 180 pounds.

Detectives say he could be driving a 2016 black Audi with dealer tags.

Byron's driver's license photo is from this year. His mugshot is three years old.
