South Tacoma man missing nearly a week, after calling friend to say he was lost in Seattle

SEATTLE-- A south Tacoma man has been missing for six days, and his family and friends are fearing the worst.

Young Hills had been near Seattle’s University District and was heading home when he called a friend to say he had taken a wrong turn. No one has heard from him since.

Seattle’s Georgetown neighborhood  is the last place friends say they located a ping. As each day passes, friends and family of Hills grow more desperate to find him.

“We’re just looking around, looking around the same places just in case we’ve missed a spot,” said Hills’ friend Young An.

The 22-year-old has been missing since Saturday. His brother, Jin Kim, says it’s completely out of character.

Investigators say Hills left his cousin’s apartment at 6 a.m. Saturday to head home to Parkland, except he never made it there. The last call he made was to a friend to say he took a wrong turn and might be lost.

“He’s been missing for some days now, he’s driving in a car and there’s no reason for him to be missing,” said Detective Ed Troyer with Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff’s detectives are now asking for the public’s help in looking for Hills’ silver 2015 Nissan Pathfinder with Washington plate AZD4388.

“We don’t think it’s foul play but that he maybe had an accident,” said Troyer.

Hills’ friends and family fear there has been an accident, and it’s why they’re growing worried every day he’s gone.

“I feel like maybe he got into an accident and he’s stuck in a car, and he’s alive but he can’t reach us because his phone’s not on,” said An. “I think he needs our help so I’m not going to stop looking for him until we find him.”

Hills was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, blue jeans and a black baseball hat.

Investigators say there has been no activity on his cell phone, debit card or social media accounts since his disappearance.
