Downed tree, power lines cause big delays on Issaquah-Hobart Road

A tree fell knocking power lines into the northbound lane of Issaquah-Hobart Road early Tuesday causing delays for morning commuters.

Police said a driver then hit the tree near Tiger Mountain Rd SE. That driver was not injured.

Around 7 a.m. authorities said a tow truck had just removed the car.

Puget Sound Energy has been called to repair the power lines. Crews have a lot of work to do because lines on both sides of the road were affected.

Issaquah-Hobart Road was down to one lane through the area, but had reopened around 7:30 a.m.

Traffic was backed up for several miles northbound.

The phone company was also called to to repair damaged lines in the area.
