High wind warning now in effect for the greater Puget Sound

SEATTLE -- A high wind warning is now in effect for the greater Puget Sound region. Winds will start to turn from the south 20-35 mph with peak gusts likely between 50-60 mph, says Meteorologist Tim Joyce.

High winds can topple trees onto roads, vehicles, rooftops, and people.

The National Weather Service Office in Seattle advises that falling trees or large branches have been known to cause fatalities during previous wind storms.
