SEATTLE -- Last season, a Seahawks '12' flag was carried by the U.S. Marine Security Force Battalion Bangor. In a ceremony Tuesday, the security force handed the flag over to the Seahawks' new honorary unit -- Navy Region Northwest.
Organizers of the yearly exchange of the flag is the Seahawks' way of honoring the military.
After today, Navy Region Northwest will take the flag wherever they travel ... until they give it to a new unit next year.
This is the fifth year the Hawks have adopted an honorary military unit and given them their 12 flag.
