Man sues bar for $2.6 million after drunken fight

PORTLAND, Ore. — A man is suing the owner of a bar where he was served alcohol before he got into a drunken fight that left him with permanent brain damage.

The Oregonian/OregonLive reports the lawsuit from 31-year-old Lee Works was filed against Bond Street Grill owner PTC Inc.

Bend lawyer Tim Williams is representing Works and says bars that continue to serve alcohol to intoxicated people can be held liable.

The lawsuit says 29-year-old Chauncey Day was kicked out of a bar for his drunken, combative behavior in October 2014.

He left and continued drinking at Bond Street Grill with Works and two others before the fight ensued.
