Ducks' O-line coach predicts a win over Huskies; almost nobody else does

SEATTLE – While many in the national media -and just about everybody in the betting world - expects the Washington Huskies to beat the Oregon Ducks on Saturday, at least one man disagrees.

Oregon offensive line coach Steve Greatwood told the Oregonian this week that the Ducks will keep their 12-game winning streak alive.

“The streak's not going to end," Greatwood said.

The Huskies are 8.5-point favorites to win in Eugene for the first time since 2002 on Saturday, in a 4:30 p.m. game that will be televised on Q13 FOX.

Greatwood isn’t buying it.

“As a coach, I know we're supposed to preach the faceless opponent, but it's Washington," he told the Oregonian. "It's a big, big game. It's a rivalry. We've had the upper hand and we intend to keep that for the next several years."

The Huskies have won all give games they’ve played, moving to 2-0 in Pac-12 play with a 44-6 victory over Stanford last Friday in the biggest game at Husky Stadium in many years.

The once-mighty Ducks, on the other hand, have lost three in a row for the first time since 2007.
