TACOMA -- The Pierce County sheriff's K-9 "Diego" died Monday morning after finishing an incredible career with the law enforcement agency.
"We are heartbroken to report K-9 Diego passed away this morning," the department said in a statement Monday. "We truly appreciate your support for Diego, his handler and their family."
For 7 years, the black Labrador sniffed for danger on our buses, planes, and stadiums. But now he's retiring after being diagnosed with terminal and untreatable cancer inside of his heart.
