From Everett Police Dept.

EVERETT, Wash. — Police are investigating a shooting near Everett High School that authorities say is not related to students.

Everett police first tweeted about the shooting near Colby Ave & 23rd St around 7 a.m. Wednesday.

Officers said an adult man had been shot and they were searching for a woman who they believe is the suspect.

School was scheduled to start around 7:30 a.m. Police said students who walked to school were taken to the gym as a safety precaution. Students who were being bussed to school were taken to Memorial Stadium.

Everett school officials said all students were safe and ask parents not to come to the school. They said school was open and buses would be returning students to class.
