Idaho woman facing charges after daughter found underweight
CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) _ A southwest Idaho oman has been charged with felony injury to a child after authorities say they found her infant daughter severely malnourished.
KTVB-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2drSsSF) that 21-year-old Tiffany Knapp of Caldwell was taken into custody Sunday following a six-month investigation.
Court documents say police on March 8 performed a welfare check on the 8-month-old infant and found she only weighed 11 pounds.
Authorities say the child had been prescribed a special formula to help her gain weight but had been given only Kool-Aid and watered-down milk.
The child was placed into foster care where authorities say she gained more than 4 pounds over the next 20 days.
It's not clear if Knapp has an attorney. She's being held in the Canyon County Jail on $50,000 bond.
