1 dead, 1 injured after train collides with farm truck in Stanwood

STANWOOD, Wash. -- One person is dead and another is injured after a farm truck collided with a train Tuesday night in Stanwood.

According to the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office, the crash occurred near the intersection of 92nd Avenue and Pioneer Highway, south of Mount Vernon. The truck attempted to cross the tracks when it was hit by the train, deputies said.

One man was found dead at the scene, and another was transported to Harborview Medical Center. The extent of their injuries was unknown.

It was not immediately known if the train was carrying passengers. The tracks are shut down as officials investigate.
