Rescue crews recover body of missing swimmer at 5 Mile Lake Park



AUBURN, Wash. - The body of a missing swimmer was recovered from the waters at 5 Mile Lake Park, South King Fire & Rescue said.

According to the Tacoma News Tribune, the swimmer is believed to be a teenage boy who was swimming with a group of friends.

South King Fire’s water rescue team responded to the call shortly after 3 p.m. Saturday. His body was located three hours later.

Authorities say rescuers were searching by hand in the murky lake and the underwater visibility was zero.

That part of the lake is about 25 feet deep.
