Storm's Breanna Stewart named AP 'Rookie of the Year'

SEATTLE -- Not only did Breanna Stewart earn the title of AP's Rookie of the Year, she also swept WNBA Rookie of the Month - winning it four consecutive times.

For September, Stewart led all rookies in rebounding (9.3 rpg) and blocked shots (1.7 bpg) and ranked second in scoring (18.3 ppg), assists (3.0 apg) and minutes played (33.1 mpg).  Among all WNBA players, she was third in rebounding and blocks, tied for sixth in scoring and fifth in minutes played.

    Stewart scored 18 points, Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis added 16 and the Seattle Storm clinched the seventh seed in the WNBA playoffs with an 88-75 victory over the Chicago Sky on Sunday night.

    The Storm play their first playoff game Wednesday vs. the Dream in Atlanta at 5 p.m. PT.
