Police searching for suspect after man shot overnight outside Marysville home

MARYSVILLE, Wash. -- Police are investigating an overnight shooting in Marysville that sent one man to the hospital. Officers were called around 4 a.m. Thursday to the report of a shooting in the 7600 block of 80th Ave NE.

The victim, a 33-year-old Marysville man, was shot outside of his home while he was getting into his truck, police said. The victim made his way back inside and called 911. He was taken with serious injuries to a nearby hospital.

Investigators said the victim was the only one at his home at the time of the shooting.

Police say they do not believe anyone in the area is in danger.

“While we have not yet identified a suspect, we do not at this time believe this to be a random incident and believe residents in the area are not in any immediate danger,” stated Commander Robb Lamoureux.

Detectives at the scene Thursday morning were waiting for a search warrant to continue the investigation.
