SEATTLE — Thurston County Sheriff John Snaza, critically injured last month in a motorcycle crash in Montana, has been transferred to Harborview Medical Center's Rehabilitation Center.

The sheriff's office said Snaza was transported on Tuesday by Lacey Fire District 3 to the Seattle hospital:

"Here he will be provided a comprehensive evaluation to assess the best recovery options and regimen.

The ongoing support and encouragement from the community has been invaluable in the continued improvement of Sheriff Snaza.

In order to allow Sheriff Snaza to adequately settle into the Rehabilitation Center, the family is requesting no visitors at this time."

Snaza suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash in Sanders County, Montana, while he was off duty.

Snaza suffered a punctured lung, a lacerated kidney, a broken left arm and a damaged right hand. He underwent a successful surgery to fuse a bone in his neck.
