Mariners trade Wade LeBlanc to Pirates

SEATTLE – The Seattle Mariners traded away pitcher Wade LeBlanc on Tuesday, the team announced on Twitter.

LeBlanc was sent to the Pittsburgh Pirates for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

LeBlanc started eight games for the Mariners this season, going 3-0 with a 4.50 ERA. He hasn’t played since Aug. 24, when he came on in relief in the second of two consecutive games against the New York Yankees.

LeBlanc was designated for assignment at the end of August when James Paxton was called back up to the Mariners.
