Deputy NYFD chief joins first responders in Tacoma to remember 9/11

TACOMA, Wa. -- First responders in Tacoma honored the victims of the 9/11 attacks. Dozens gathered at the firefighters memorial near the waterfront Sunday morning on the 15th anniversary of the attacks.

Deputy Chief Richard Alles of the New York City Fire Department joined the group.

Afterward, he spoke about the serious health issues plaguing emergency personnel who responded to Ground Zero after the attack and what's being done to help them.

Several officials also spoke at the ceremony including Deputy Mayor Ryan Mello and Tacoma Fire Chief Jim Duggan.
