Questions surround death of woman who jumped from state ferry

Seattle – Three people have committed suicide off of Washington state ferries in just over a month, a spike considering there had been just two such incidents since the start of 2015.

On July 28, Belinda Palmer, 52, of Silverdale, jumped to her death from the Walla Walla Ferry between Seattle and Bremerton.

Her body later washed ashore in South Kitsap County.

A Q13 News investigation has unraveled the final hours of Palmer’s life, including a contact with the Washington State Patrol just before her death and the failure of the ship’s crew to watch Palmer despite being order by their captain to do so.
