Report: Seahawks’ Germain Ifedi out for several weeks after high-ankle sprain
RENTON, Wash. — The Seattle Seahawks will open the season without their first-round draft pick on the field.
Offensive lineman Germain Ifedi suffered a high-ankle sprain in practice on Wednesday, a source confirmed to our news partner The Seattle Times.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport also reported the injury Thursday morning, saying Ifedi would likely be out for several weeks.
No official word yet from the team.
Ifedi has been a bright spot for the Seahawks this preseason. The offensive line has a tough task ahead facing Ndamukong Suh and the Miami Dolphins in the season opener this Sunday.
Without Ifedi, the Seahawks will have to either move a player to the right guard spot or reconfigure the offensive line.
