Ryan Lochte suspended for 10 months from U.S. swimming, TMZ reports

Ryan Lochte has been suspended for 10 months by U.S. swimming for his late-night antics in Rio de Janeiro during the Olympics, according to a report from TMZ Sports.

TMZ reported that the other three swimmers involved in the incident were suspended as well, but for less time, with one receiving a four-month suspension.

USA Today reported the suspension as well.

Brazilian police charged Lochte with filing a false robbery report after the incident.

Lochte initially said he and three swimming teammates were robbed after their taxi was pulled over by armed men posing as police. But video showed the athletes getting into a confrontation with armed security guards at a gas station.

Lochte has since apologized, but he lost all of his major sponsors.
