Redmond police arrest lifeguard at Hartman Pool for allegedly placing cell phone in women's locker room

REDMOND, Wash. -- Police arrested a 25-year-old lifeguard at Redmond's Hartman Pool Wednesday for investigation of voyeurism after a cellphone was found taped to a wall inside the female staff locker room, the city said.

The cell phone in the locker room was discovered by a coach with the Woodinville High School swim team, which had an event at the pool Wednesday morning.

Police arrived within minutes and arrested a 25-year-old Redmond man who was on-duty lifeguard at the time, the city said in a news release.

During an interview at the Redmond Police Department, the suspect confessed to placing the phone on the wall, the city said.

The suspect is employed by WAVE Aquatics, the operator and manager of the Hartman Pool building. The company immediately suspended the suspect pending the investigation results, the city said.

The Redmond Police Department said the suspect was administratively booked and then released, because the department requested warrants to search the suspect's phone and they had not yet been issued.
