Body of kidnapped Montana woman found inside trunk of car near Spokane Airport



SPOKANE, Wash. -- A woman who was kidnapped at a Montana rest stop has been found dead inside a car parked near the Spokane International Airport.

The body was discovered about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday by Spokane County Sheriff's deputies who were searching for the woman.

The Spokesman-Review says the body was in a car found in a parking lot in an industrial area.

The Independent Record of Helena, Montana, reported the woman was 47-year-old Rita Maze, who was abducted about 11 a.m. Tuesday at a rest stop near Wolf Creek, Montana.

Police told the newspaper someone hit her in the head and put her in the trunk.

The Helena Police Department reported the missing woman to Spokane authorities, and investigators used her cell phone to track her to the area where she was found.
