Motorcyclist dies in crash at Evergreen State Fair drag race

MONROE -- A 42 year old man riding his motorcycle as part of the Evergreen State Fair drag races was killed in a crash Monday.

Around 12 p.m., the man was riding more than 90 m.p.h. when he collided with a bus next to the track at the Evergreen State Fair in Monroe, that according to the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.

They say that anyone can take part in the races, and that the rider was not a professional.

Early reports say this was a new bike for the rider, and that he overshot the track.

The motorcyclist's name not yet been identified.

The Evergreen State Fair in Monroe runs the 10 days before and through Labor Day. It is the largest county fair in the Pacific Northwest.
