11-year-old's new video game came with illicit surprise

BATON ROUGE -- The debate on whether or not video games are harmful to kids continues to rage. The debate about whether or not video games that come with methamphetamine are harmful to kids is probably pretty much settled.

KPLC reports an 11-year-old opened the video game he bought Wednesday at a Louisiana GameStop to discover a baggie of meth inside.

His dad returned the game and called the cops. Both the manager for the local GameStop and the company's spokesperson say used games are checked before being shipped to the store but aren't checked again once they arrive.

They have no idea how or when the meth was placed inside the game and say they have no idea how to track where the game came from.
