Report: Seahawks to cut guard Jahri Evans

SEATTLE -- The Seattle Seahawks are cutting veteran guard Jahri Evans, NFL reporter Mike Garafolo says, a day before the team is slated to trim the roster down to 53 players.

Garafolo tweeted the news Friday afternoon.

The 33-year-old Evans played with the New Orleans Saint prior to signing a one-year deal with the Seahawks in August. Some thought Evans would serve as a the much-needed veteran presence on the offensive line.

On Saturday, the Seahawks and all NFL teams must cut their roster down to 53-players in advance of the regular season.
