Man drowns in Wild Waves Theme Park activity pool



FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - One person has drowned at Wild Waves Theme Park in Federal Way.

According to Wild Waves officials, an unconscious 33-year-old man was pulled from the Activity Pool by lifeguards at 5:30 p.m Saturday.

First responder teams administered CPR and called 911. South King Fire and Rescue crews arrived and continued life-saving measures.

The man never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead a short time later. His identity has not yet been released.

One witness told Q13 News the drowning happened near the Cannon Slides.

Reva Mickens, a park visitor, told Q13 News her cousin spotted the man's body at the bottom of the pool and told lifeguards. The lifeguards dove in and pulled the man out, she said.

"I knew it was too late," Henderson said.

Wild Waves officials said they are helping authorities with a follow-up investigation.
