CAPTURED IN KENT Aug. 20, 2016 --
Aaron Singh learned it's hard to swim while wearing handcuffs. He was arrested Saturday night after a property owner called 911 to report that they believed someone was inside their abandoned/vacant home located in the north end of Kent. KPD officers responded to search the building and found Singh inside. He was arrested.

After officers handcuffed him, he ran away from the scene and jumped into the Green River in an attempt to evade apprehension. He was removed from the river and later booked at the King County Jail for felony escape and the outstanding warrants for his arrest for Domestic Violence Assault Other misdemeanor charges have also been referred to the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for stealing the handcuffs. Great work by Kent PD and the alert homeowner!!

He doesn't count as an official WMW capture because no viewer tip was involved but what matters is that he is in custody and his alleged victim feels much safer. Thank you!

Singh is being held on $251,150 bail for DV Assault 2, Escape and Failure to Appear for a drug charge.

WANTED IN FEDERAL WAY --
Take a look at the injuries to a domestic violence victim’s face and neck after Federal Way Police say she was attacked by her boyfriend -- convicted felon, Aaron Singh.

Police say Singh strangled the victim during two assaults and broke her eye socket during a third attack in Fife.

Detectives are extremely worried about the victim's safety because statistics show women who have survived strangulation before are eight times more likely to be killed the next time. So, she is in hiding for very good reason and Singh has a $250,000 warrant for his arrest.

King County prosecutors charged him with two counts of domestic violence assault, robbery and residential burglary.

"We've had two incidents of assault in Federal Way between this suspect and victim and also another incident where he is suspected of breaking into her apartment and stealing a gun,” says Cathy Schrock with Federal Way Police. “It's clear that he's escalating his level of violence and the use of strangulation is going to result in a homicide if he's not brought in."

Aaron Singh has prior convictions for domestic violence assault, violation of a no contact order, possession of a dangerous weapon, harassment, resisting arrest and violation of a no contact order.
