KATMAI NATIONAL PARK, Alaska — A mother bear nicknamed Grazer was standing at the top of Brooks Falls recently, patiently waiting to snatch some jumping salmon out of the air for dinner, when she suddenly noticed that one of her cubs had been swept over the waterfall.
She didn’t seem to know what to do at first, but then her second cub went over, too. That’s when Momma Bear’s instincts kicked in and she rushed to the rescue.
