Matthew Turner: High-risk child rapist convicted of preying on young girl after luring her out of home -- wanted in Pierce County

TURNER 2WANTED IN PIERCE COUNTY --
A convicted child rapist is on the run in Pierce County and deputies are asking for the public's help to find him.

Matthew Turner, 29, is wanted for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. A warrant was issued for his arrest on July 28th.

Turner is a Level 3 sex offender, which is considered the highest risk to reoffend.

Turner was 16 when he lured a 10 year old girl out of her house, forced her to the ground and sexually assaulted her. Detectives say the attack occurred when he was already facing Indecent Liberties charges in another case involving two teenage classmates. Those charges were later dismissed as part of a plea agreement when he pled guilty to Rape of a Child 1st degree.

Turner began the Sex Offender Treatment Program while he was incarcerated, but was terminated due to lack of progress.

“This is not the first time he's failed to report in with us as he is required by law to do. He was convicted for the same thing in 2012," said Pierce County Det. Ed Troyer. “We need to know where he is and who he is living next to make sure there are no other young girls in danger," he added.

Crime Stoppers of Tacoma-Pierce County is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to Turner's arrest.
