2-alarm fire destroys SeaTac home, damages others



SEATAC -- A 2-alarm fire destroyed one home under construction and severely damaged two others early Thursday morning in SeaTac.

Firefighters were called to around 3 a.m. to a blaze in the 5200 block of 170 Lane in SeaTac, Kent fire officials said. The fire engulfed one home under construction, and damaged an occupied home next-door. Another home under construction was also scorched, fire officials said.

Fire crews put out the blaze around 4 a.m. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Those in the area told Q13 News the fire was so intense it "melted" parts of nearby cars. Flames could be seen from Interstate 5.
