Father of slain Mukilteo shooting victim: 'I would give my life right now' for my son's

MUKILTEO, Wash. -- Three candles, three angels and three rocks were featured at a growing memorial on Tuesday for three teenage friends killed in a shooting at a Mukilteo house party.

Anna Bui, Jake Long and Jordan Ebner -- all 19 years old -- died in the early Saturday morning shooting.

"He was my first boy,” said Jordan’s father, Brad Ebner.

“I would do anything for him,” he said.

Ebner added that he and Jordan moved to Lake Stevens several years ago but that Jordan spent most of his life in Mukilteo, where he graduated from Kamiak High School with Jake and Anna.

“I asked him if there was anywhere you can live, anywhere in the world (and) he said Mukilteo; he had so many friends who he loved,” Ebner said.

It’s also where Jordan spent the last moments of his life, with those friends, at a house party when police say a 19-year-old Allen Ivanov stormed in, opening fire.

Detectives say Ivanov killed his ex-girlfriend, Anna, in a jealous rage after she wouldn’t get back with him. Friends Jordan and Jake also were gunned down.

Ebner said of his son Jordan: “He was the best kid, he got good grades, never got into trouble."

Every minute is a struggle for Jordan’s parents but the community’s support is not lost on them.

“It’s overwhelming how the community has come together,” Ebner said.

Condolences from complete strangers like Christy Dunn.

“My heart truly goes out to you, and there are people in this community, if they don’t know how to physically help you, they are trying to help you through their hearts and prayers,” Dunn said.

Dunn and her dog Earl, along with the group Hope, will be outside Kamiak High School for the rest of the week to provide comfort to anyone who stops by the memorial.

“When someone pets a dog or (is) shown love by a dog, their heart rate starts to go down,” Dunn said.

It’s helpful for people at the memorial but right now the people closest to the victims are still in shock.

“I would give my life right now, I just want him to come home,” Ebner said.

Jordan was a student at Everett Community College; a professor there described Jordan as disciplined, respectful, friendly and on track to pursue aviation.
