Body found floating in Baker Lake, where a fisherman vanished July 13

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- A body was recovered from Baker Lake Friday, and the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office suspected it could be a missing 42-year-old fisherman who vanished July 13.

At about 1 p.m. Friday, boaters on Baker Lake reported that there appeared to be a body floating about 100 feet from shore at the north end of the lake, the sheriff's office said.  The body was later recovered.

In a news release, the sheriff's office provided details of the fisherman who was reported missing on July 14, but added, "We cannot confirm that this is the individual in question."

The sheriff's office said Glen Richardson, 42, of Bellingham, was last seen fishing in a 12-foot aluminum boat near the north end of Baker Lake at about 8 p.m. on July 13.  A search began July 14 when he was reported missing, but it was called off July 17 when nothing was found except for an oar to Richardson's boat.
