2 teens die in single car crash in Edmonds, 3 others injured

EDMONDS, Wash. - Edmonds police are investigating a crash that killed two teenagers on Friday Night.

Edmonds Police say that at around 11:30 p.m. they were notified of a single vehicle crash in the 8000 block of Olympic View Drive.

The car had run off the roadway, down an embankment and into a large tree.

Five teenagers between the ages of 13-16 were in the car when it crashed. One of the teens was able to get out of the car and flag down a passing motorist for help.

The driver and one rear seat passenger, both 16-year-old males, were pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers were transported to Harborview Medical Center with serious but non life-threatening injuries. The female passenger that was able to flag down other car only had minor injuries.

Edmonds police say that their initial investigation does not point to alcohol or drugs being a factor in the crash. They do believe that speed was a primary factor.

The roadway was closed for several hours during the investigation.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner has not released the names of the deceased teens pending notification of their next of kin.
