Wrong-way driver crashes into another car on I-5
TACOMA -- A wrong-way driver crashed head-on into another car Tuesday morning on southbound Interstate 5 near Tacoma.
Police say around 4 a.m. a car started driving northbound in the southbound lanes of I-5, eventually crashing into another vehicle at the Puyallup River Bridge.
Officials say both drivers were badly injured and taken to a nearby hospital.
Troopers do not know where the driver got on the freeway before eventually crashing in the left lane.
In a separate incident near the Tacoma Dome, police say someone apparently threw a large rock down onto another vehicle. Nobody was injured. Troopers said they were now searching for possible suspects.
Around 6 a.m. authorities were forced to block off the two right lanes near Port of Tacoma Road due to a "slow-moving rollover." All lanes were back open by 8 a.m.
