Neighborhood children show their appreciation to SeaTac police officer

SEATAC, Wash. – A SeaTac police officer got a warm welcome home – a collection of art projects from neighborhood children who wanted to say thanks.

A man who was working in the neighborhood at the time posted on Facebook that he almost cried when the group of children approached officer Jose Bartolo.

“(Bartolo) spent the next 30-45 minutes talking with the children about what he does and giving them a show-and-tell of his gear and patrol car,” Rick McLachlin posted on Facebook.

The children also gave Bartolo a Starbucks gift card.

“This is the good stuff,” McLachlin wrote. “We need more of this EVERY DAY. Not just after tragedies. My heart is full.”
