Hand grenade found in Bothell garage ruled inert by bomb technicians

BOTHELL, Wash. - Bothell police and bomb technicians ruled a grenade found in a Bothell garage inert after investigating.

Bothell police say family members were cleaning out a garage in the 22300 block of 6th Avenue SE  when a hand grenade was found in a safe. The family removed the grenade, set it outside and called police.

Police say the homeowner had passed away and was a veteran. The grenade was a military style training grenade and was not live.

Police and the bomb squad who responded to the scene have cleared.

Bothell police say if you ever find a grenade, assume it is live and call authorities immediately and do not touch or move it.
