SEATTLE -- There was a lot of conversation Friday afternoon about how Dallas police took out the man they say shot 12 officers, killing five of them.

After hours of attempted negotiations, police in Dallas ended the hours-long standoff early Friday in a way never before seen in the U.S. -- officers sent a robot rigged with a C4 plastic explosive into the  parking garage and blew him up.

Was that tactic proper policing or something more akin to warfare? And what effect could it have on the use of robots in standoff situations in the future?

Jesus Villahermosa, a crisis security expert, joined the discussion during a phone interview with Q13 News.
