Injured climber rescued from Mount Adams

MOUNT ADAMS, Wash. (AP) — A 55-year-old Lynnwood man is recovering after injuring himself while climbing Mount Adams over the weekend.


The Yakima County Sheriff's Office says the climber was flown by helicopter to a Vancouver hospital Sunday afternoon with a possible broken leg.

He was climbing on the south side of the 12,277-foot peak in southwest Washington.

A team from Whidbey Island Naval Search and Rescue brought him off the mountain around 1 p.m.
