Man marries his cellphone in small Las Vegas ceremony

LAS VEGAS – As much as it might feel otherwise, you’re not actually married to your smartphone.

Aaron Chervenak is a different story.

The Los Angeles married his phone at a small ceremony in Las Vegas.

“If we’re going to be honest with ourselves, we connect with our smartphones on so many emotional levels,” Chervenak said in a video posted on YouTube. “We look to it for solace, to calm us gown, to put us a sleep, to ease our minds. To me, that’s also what a relationship is about.

“So in a sense, my smartphone has been my longest relationship.”

Chervenak showed up in a vintage pink Cadillac, but the wedding wasn’t performed by an Elvis Presley impersonator.

The wedding isn’t legal, of course.

“What I hope my wedding will do is act as a symbolic gesture to show how precious our phones are becoming in our daily lives, and hopefully get others to ask that question of themselves and their relationships to their phone.”
