King County sheriff's marine unit tries to keep boaters safe -- and sober

SEATTLE -- The King County Sheriff's Office Marine Unit says budget cuts could threaten its future ability to ensure safety on the waterways.

The warning comes as Fourth of July is upon us. It's traditionally a deadly holiday when it comes to recreational boating. The King County sheriff's marine unit goes out on patrol in Lake Washington daily to make sure there's no drunken drivers steering the boats. And that's not all.
