Seattle police release video of Sunday's shooting of domestic-violence suspect



SEATTLE – Seattle police released a video Monday showing a domestic-violence suspect being shot Sunday afternoon in the Central District.

Police said the man, who is in critical condition after the shooting, was carrying two knives when he was shot and allegedly threw a third knife at his partner, who contacted 911.

The video shows the man approaching officers, who told him eight times to drop the knives before opening fire.

Police also released the 911 call, in which the man’s partner reported the suspect was suicidal, had been taking prescription medication and was chasing him with a knife.

"He's trying to leave, he's got a knife, oh my God," the 911 caller said.

The shooting happened around 1:45 p.m. in the 1900 block of S. Dearborn St.
