Kent hopes to mark 61 new crosswalks

KENT, Wash. --  The City of Kent presented policy recommendations Monday to the Public Works Committee on installing  61 new marked crosswalks.

Officials say  the policy recommendations  include marking crosswalks at intersections in the downtown area, to encourage pedestrian activity.  They also include marking crosswalks  on school walk routes to guide students, and marking crosswalks at designated school crossings.

If the policy is adopted by the City Council, the changes could happen as early as this summer.
