Child rescued, but father missing after fishing boat capsizes in Bellevue's Phantom Lake

BELLEVUE, Wash. -- A 5-year-old child was rescued but his father was missing after their boat capsized Monday night on Phantom Lake in the 1800 block of 156th Ave. SE in Bellevue, police said.

The father and son were fishing on the lake when the boat capsized. The first came in at about 9:26 p.m., police said.

The boy had a life jacket on and was able to swim, but he couldn't find his dad.

The search for the father was called off when it got too dark Monday night, police said, but resumed Tuesday morning.
