WATCH: Las Vegas Strip's first high-rise casino demolished in spectacular implosion

LAS VEGAS -- The 24-story Riviera Hotel & Casino was demolished Tuesday morning in Las Vegas after a controlled implosion.

Huge plumes of dust followed with a lot of cheers.

The Riviera was the Strip's first high-rise casino to go up on the Strip and was a known mob hangout.

It was a backdrop for several famous movies including the original "Ocean's 11" from 1960 and the 1995 movie "Casino."

The Riviera shut down last year after a 60-year run.
