10 children, 2 adults pulled from boat near San Juan Islands

BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) — The U.S. Coast Guard was able to rescue 10 children and two adults from a sailboat that went aground near the San Juan Islands.

The Coast Guard says crews received a radio call Sunday from the crew of a 58-foot sailboat saying their boat was listing after running aground.

Officials say the boat was listing about seven feet to the side when crews responded. No injuries were reported. All the children, who were ages 10 to 12, were wearing life jackets.
