Port Angeles police searching for abduction and assault suspect

PORT ANGELES, Wash. - Police in Port Angeles are searching for a man who allegedly attacked a woman on Saturday.

The woman told police that the man approached her with a knife near 5th and Laurel streets. The woman says the man forced her to go with him to several areas in the neighborhood before leading her into an abandoned building where she says he sexually assaulted her. She was able to escape and contacted police.  She sought medical attention and police say she is recovering.

The woman says she did not know the man who attacked her. He is described as a white male who appears to be in his 30s, 6'0" with a strong, slender build and a bald or shaved head, green eyes and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a dark brown jacket with a hood and also had a black bag.
