Q: Is it legal for my neighbor to fly his drone over my house and videotape my yard or me and my family? — Shawn

A: “Shawn, good question about the drones. This is kind of an ambiguous piece of law that hasn’t caught up to technology yet. It’s a multi-part answer in that just because your neighbor is flying a drone over your backyard in itself does not make it a crime. However, if your neighbor is flying a drone over your property and filming certain activities in your backyard, that could be a violation of the voyeurism law, so it really is fact-dependent.” — Fife Police Chief Pete Fisher
