Washington Capitol to hold two-day active threat drill

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) _ State officials will be running a two-day ``active threat'' readiness drill at the Capitol campus.

The Washington State Patrol and Department of Enterprise Services says that the exercise will take place Friday and Saturday.

Officials say that there will be an increase in law enforcement and fire personnel on the campus, and that several groups of first responders will take tours of several of the buildings.

Most of the activities will occur on Saturday, when about 200 law enforcement officers, firefighters and medical units will be at the Capitol campus.

Officials say there are no known specific threats to the Capitol and that the training is to improve preparedness and coordination.
