SEATTLE -- Several downtown Seattle streets were shut down for a short time Thursday afternoon as crews investigated a "major" gas line leak.

Authorities were called around noon to the area of 4th Ave. and Yesler. Utility crews were able to stop the leak and reopen area streets soon after.
