SEATTLE — Several downtown Seattle streets were shut down for a short time Thursday afternoon as crews investigated a “major” gas line leak.

Authorities were called around noon to the area of 4th Ave. and Yesler. Utility crews were able to stop the leak and reopen area streets soon after.

Officials did not immediately say what caused the leak.
